Konstantin Shmyrev was born in Novosibirsk in 1967.
From 1986-1993 he studied cello at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow and completed postgraduate studies at the Studio for New Music in 1995.
For several years he worked as a cello concertmaster in the orchestras of the Moscow Instrumental Capella, 'New Russia', 'Russian Camerata'.
He has written music for many documentaries and animated films.
Konstantin Shmyrev has been a cello teacher at the V.I. Muradeli Children's Music School for over 18 years.
Since 2014 he has been conducting the school's small symphony orchestra and the A. Martynenko Orchestra. A. Martynenko.
As a member of the Triptych Trio he is an active concert performer.
