The Regulation of Carrying of the XXVI International Children Competition
(Festival Competition) ”Young Musician”
The aims of the Competition

• to organise the creative communication between young musicians of different national cultures from different countries of the world

• to activate cognitive and creative activity of children

• to form the aesthetic adaptation of the world

• to find out talented children in music life and help them in their professional orientation

• to exchange experience, to maintain creative contacts, interaction of different kinds, genres and ways of musical activities

The conditions for taking Part in the competition:

• the competition takes place on-line

• for taking part in the competition, it’s necessary to fill in the application and send it together with the video materials not later than June 15th, 2025

The application includes:

• the full name of the child

• the age

• the name of the institution, studio, club where the child studies

• the name of the competition programme

• the nomination

• the full name of the leader or teacher

• the full address, telephone number and other channels of communication

• the application is presented in electronic version

• The participation in the competition is free of charge

Contest Participants

The competition is open to children from 4 to 18 years of age (inclusive) in age groups:


1. from 4 to 5 years old


2. from 6 to 7 years old


3. from 8 to 9 years old


4. from 10 to 11 years old


5. from 12 to 13 years old


6. 14 to 15 years old


7. 16 to 17 years old


8. 18 years of old


Pupils of SSMShs at conservatoires and music colleges take part in the “Young Musician” competition.

All other participants perform within the framework of the festival-competition “Young Musician”.

The nominations
Programme

• contestants perform at least two different characteristics

• diverse works

• the programme should preferably include works by J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel, D. Scarlatti, A. Scarlatti, L. v. Beethoven, F. Chopin, R. Schumann, P. I. Tchaikovsky, Johann Strauss (son), I. O. Dunaevsky, Maxim Dunaevsky, D. D. Shostakovich, A. N. Scriabin, V. Shainsky, G. Sviridov, J. Sibelius, C. Cui, A. Liadov.


The maximum performance time for participants of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd age groups is 10 minutes.

The maximum performance time for participants in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th age groups is 20 minutes.

Summarising the results of the competition

The summing up of the results of the competition will take place on 17-24 June 2025.

Based on the results of the competition, the following prizes will be awarded:

• Grand Prix

• Diplomas of laureates in each nomination and each age group

• Diplomas of the contest participants

• Letters of thanks to teachers for their pedagogical skills

• Special prizes for the best performance of works


The Organising Committee of the ‘Young Musician’ Competition may use video recordings of the contestants to create films and show them in different information networks.


The winners of the contest - Grand Prix winner, laureates of the first, second, third degrees are awarded with diplomas of laureates of the contest and receive the right to take part in distance education programmes organised after the contest, as well as can take part in other musical projects.

The best performances of children will be included in a film based on the results of our competition, which will be posted on YouTube. Materials of the competition will be published on the pages of the international pedagogical magazine “Symphony”.
